Community Impact Study Released

Port Seeks Comment on Proposed Fireboat Station
News ImageThe Port of Long Beach is seeking public comment on an Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration (IS/MND) and Application Summary Report (ASR) prepared for a fireboat station proposed for the Port’s inner harbor at Pier D. A public hearing to take comments on the IS/MND has been set for 5 p.m., Wednesday, May 4, at the Port’s Interim Administrative Offices, 4801 Airport Plaza Drive, Long Beach 90815, in the Harbor Commission Boardroom.

Port Starts Strong in 2016
News ImageCargo shipments at the Port of Long Beach were up 6.1 percent for the first three months of 2016 compared to the same period last year, starting the year off strongly. Lifted by big gains in January and February, the quarter was the Port’s best since 2007.

Port Incentivizes Energy Efficiency
News ImageThe Port of Long Beach is launching a new program offering its terminals rebates to encourage them to replace outdated, polluting and inefficient electrical equipment with energy-efficient technology. The Board of Harbor Commissioners has approved the Energy Efficiency Rebate Match Program, creating a pool of $500,000 to reimburse Port tenants up to 100 percent of their equipment purchase costs. The Port's rebates would match Southern California Edison rebates for eligible energy-saving equipment.
