Activities & Exhibits

With more than 70 interactive exhibits and displays, there's something for everyone at Green Port Fest. Here are a few of the highlights:

Experience a Virtual Train
There's more than one way to ride the rails at Green Port Fest. Experience Union Pacific's rail simulator for a virtual train ride you won't forget.

Central Command
An emergency could happen anywhere at the Port - and the Port's Security Division is ready. The Mobile Department Operations Center showcases how the Port responds to incidents and emergencies at shipping terminals. See how the Port's underwater security submersibles are helping the Harbor Patrol protect the community.

What Lives in the Harbor?
Our Green Port environmental projects display area to see the variety of wildlife that lives in our harbor – from lobsters to anemones and more.

Big Machines
Check out giant "top picks," "yard hostlers" and other heavy equipment that move cargo containers around Port terminals.

Eyes Under the Sea
These days, when the Port security teams want to look underwater, they send a robot - their eyes under the water. At the Security section of Green Port Fest you can see demonstrations of these exciting underwater, remote-control submersibles in action!

Children's Playground
Children can visit the bounce house, slide, an arts and crafts activity center, or sit for a face painting. They can also visit the Aquarium of the Pacific's touch tank.

Who Works at the Port?
The Port of Long Beach supports 30,000 jobs in Long Beach, 316,000 in Southern California and nearly 1.5 million throughout the nation. Find out more about Port jobs - and our educational programs to prepare the next generation of goods-movement professionals - at our jobs and education exhibit area.
