Information Management

Nyariana Maiko is Chief Information Officer and Director of Information Management, appointed to her post in January 2015. The Information Management Division provides the Harbor Department with information technology leadership that enables the Port of Long Beach to be a world-class seaport and achieve its strategic goals by improving business processes and implementing business-critical systems that make the organization more effective. Information Management is also responsible for providing technology expertise and ensuring that the Port's technology users receive the highest customer service through continuous service improvement.

Maintenance
Engineering Services Bureau – Engineering Design & Maintenance Group

Fred Greco is Director of the Maintenance Division. With more than twenty years of transportation-related operations and maintenance leadership experience with airports, cargo operations, surface transportation, rail and public works, he was named to the post in October 2014. The Director of Maintenance oversees a team of 88 employees and an annual operating budget of $14.8 million. The Department is responsible for providing all maintenance services for the public infrastructure and facilities within the Port’s 7,600 acres of wharves, state-of-the-art cargo terminals, roadways, rail yards and shipping channels.

Matt Plezia is the Director of Master Planning for the Port of Long Beach, California, appointed to the post in December 2014. He joined the Port team in 1997 as a Trade Analyst, moved into the Planning Division as a Port Planner in 2002, was promoted to Manager of Master Planning in April 2013 and then Acting Director in September 2014. The Master Planning Division provides plans, studies, forecasts and coordination services to Port divisions, City departments and other governmental entities so that they can make informed and timely land use, development and leasing decisions.

Suzanne Plezia is Senior Director of the Program Delivery Group and Chief Harbor Engineer for the Port of Long Beach, providing oversight for all administrative and technical activities for the Port's Project Delivery Group, part of the Engineering Services Bureau. The group comprises three divisions – Program Management, Construction Management and Project Controls. The three divisions are responsible for a decade-long, $4 billion capital improvement program, including the new Middle Harbor Container Terminal and the replacement of the aging Gerald Desmond Bridge.

Tom Baldwin, P.E., is the Director of the Program Management Division in the Program Delivery Group of the Port of Long Beach Engineering Services Bureau, reporting to Senior Director Suzanne Plezia, P.E. As Director, Mr. Baldwin oversees the Port’s capital improvement program which includes dredging, wharf, terminal, building, railroad, bridge safety, roadway and utility projects.

Karl Adamowicz is the Director of Real Estate, appointed in 2008 after serving a year as Acting Director. He joined the Port in 1997 as a Leasing Officer. The Real Estate Division is responsible for generating revenue through leases of Port property and facilities and plays a crucial role in implementing environmental policies.

Richard S. Baratta is the Director of Risk Management. His Division centralizes the Port’s risk management programs, providing oversight in such areas as insurance, contracts, claims adjustments and more. He oversees a four-person staff and a $2.3 million budget.

Randy D. Parsons is the Director of Security Services. He oversees more than 80 security personnel, including Harbor Patrol officers, and he directs the Homeland Security Program for the 3,000-acre Port complex, including 24-hour patrols, anti-terrorism programs and security coverage.

Robert W. Seidel is Director of the Survey Division in the Program Delivery Group of the Engineering Services Bureau at the Port of Long Beach, named to the new position in March 2016. The Survey Division checks depths in the harbor to support safe navigation and assists Port operations in areas such as utility marking, property rights and construction projects.

Glenn Farren is Director of Tenant Services and Operations in the Commercial Operations Bureau at the Port of Long Beach, named to the new position in February 2015. The new Division was created to emphasize the importance of good working relationships with Port tenants and supply chain partners. As the primary contact between customers and management, Mr. Farren’s division provides customer service, operations support and efficiency enhancements to optimize port business.

Dr. Allison Yoh is Director of the Transportation Planning Division in the Planning and Environmental Affairs Bureau at the Port of Long Beach, named to the position in March 2016. As director, she leads the review and analysis of transportation-related policies; conducts regulatory and legislative analysis; provides expertise in developing regional, state and national transportation policy; oversees Port transportation planning studies and more.
