Richard D. Steinke joined the Port in 1990 and was appointed to his current post as Executive Director by the Board of Harbor Commissioners in 1997. He has led a talented staff in launching a pioneering Green Port Policy, and paving the way for the Harbor Commission to approve the milestone San Pedro Bay Ports Clean Air Action Plan.

J. Christopher Lytle is the Deputy Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer, appointed in 2008 to serve as the Port’s number two executive. Before joining the Port in 2006 as Managing Director, he was Vice President of CMA CGM, responsible for all West Coast Operations.

Dr. Noel Hacegaba is Executive Officer to the Long Beach Board of Harbor Commissioners. He was named to the post by the Commission in June 2010. He coordinates all administrative and communications functions for the Board, makes recommendations on public policy issues, serves as a liaison with elected officials and other public agencies and coordinates trade missions and conferences.

Dr. Robert G. Kanter is the Managing Director of Environmental Affairs and Planning for the Port of Long Beach with more than 30 years of experience. Dr. Kanter guides the Port’s environmental, transportation, and master land use planning divisions. He coordinates short- and long-range land use planning with an eye toward forecasted commodity trends in international trade and commerce.
