Hearing Set on Proposed Tariff Changes

To facilitate the Shore to Ship Power Program, the Port of Long Beach is proposing new Tariff language designed to address utility rates charged by Southern California Edison (SCE), as well as entities which furnish electricity obtained from SCE. The purpose of this revised Tariff language is to provide clear guidance regarding Electric Power and Lighting Charges.To allow for industry input, and ensure our customers and Port stakeholders have the opportunity to review and comment on this proposed Tariff language, POLB will hold a public hearing on this matter before a Hearing Officer to solicit public comments. The date, time and location of the hearing are:
Subsequent to the public hearing and the close of the public comment period, POLB Staff will review public comments and revise proposed Tariff language as necessary. Staff will then prepare a memo for the Board of Harbor Commissioners summarizing the outcome of the Hearing Officer proceeding. A proposed Tariff amendment will then come before the Board of Harbor Commissioners for consideration and approval in December 2013.
