Temporary Closures on W. Anaheim St. This Weekend
On- and off-ramps to and from 710 Freeway to shut
August 14, 2014
Traffic on West Anaheim Street in West Long Beach will be reduced to one lane in each direction from 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 15, through 5 a.m. Monday, Aug. 18. Access to and from the 710 Freeway at Anaheim will be closed during that period and traffic will be detoured to Pacific Coast Highway.
The repaving from the I-710 to 9th Street will also close West Anaheim to cross-traffic at all intersections except at Santa Fe Avenue. Cross-traffic at Harbor Avenue and 9th Street will be detoured to Santa Fe.
The West Anaheim Street Improvement Project, which began in September 2013, is nearing completion. Businesses along West Anaheim are open and operating throughout the project.
The City of Long Beach Harbor Department is overseeing the work to improve the street from the 710 Freeway to 9th Street at the western city limit. In addition to roadway resurfacing, the project includes improvements for sidewalks, bus stops, the median, landscaping and access for the disabled.
