October 14, 2014
The Port of Long Beach has moved up to the No. 21 slot on the list of the worlds top container ports, according to newly released rankings by the Journal of Commerce (JOC). The Port climbed two notches from its 2012 ranking due to an 11.3 percent increase in its 2013 container volume, which totaled more than 6.73 million moves. Long Beach remains the U.S. second busiest container port. The JOC issued its annual global ranking in early September.
