Workshop to focus on Port Master Plan goals, community input

October 18, 2018

Help shape future development at the Port of Long Beach at a special “Let’s Talk Port” community forum from 6-8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24, at Silverado Park, 1545 W. 31st St., Long Beach, 90810.

The event will center on needed updates to the Port Master Plan, which guides development and land use in the harbor district. The Master Plan was last updated in 1990. The Port’s long-term development goals must be refocused to address shipping industry changes, technological advances, energy resources and environmental factors such as climate change.

The workshop will begin at 6 p.m. with an open house that includes the opportunity to talk one-on-one with Port staff and consultants, followed at 6:30 p.m. by a presentation and an interactive feedback activity for participants to provide input on goals and recommendations for the update. You can find more information on the Port Master Plan at www.polb.com/masterplanupdate.

Light refreshments will be served, and a variety of Port displays will be featured. Please RSVP by Tuesday, Oct. 23 at www.polb.com/letstalkport.
