Comments Sought on Middle Harbor Project

Written comments may be submitted through February 13 on the scope of an environmental review addressing a project proposed by the Port to upgrade and "green" its Middle Harbor shipping terminals.

The Port announced its preliminary plans for the Middle Harbor Redevelopment Project though a “notice of preparation,” or NOP, on December 19.

The Port’s Middle Harbor is composed of Piers D, E and F. The Middle Harbor Redevelopment Project proposes to reconfigure terminal land and upgrade equipment to achieve more efficient and environmentally friendly Port operations, as outlined in the Port’s 2005 Green Port Policy.
