'Let's Talk' Forum Set at Stearns Park

May 13, 2008

Residents are invited to learn more about the Port of Long Beach during "Let's Talk Port," a series of forums that makes its next stop at Stearns Park, 4520 E. 23rd Street, on Wednesday, May 14, at 7 p.m.

The forums offer a convenient way for Long Beach residents to ask questions and share ideas about their Port. The topics will include the Port's environmental programs, development projects and security. Port staff will be on hand to answer questions, provide information and to listen to comments from residents.

"We're reaching out to the community to discuss what's happening with our environmental programs, security, trade and more," said Harbor Commission President Mario Cordero. "I encourage residents to come to our 'Let's Talk Port' meetings with their questions and suggestions."

The Port will host "Let's Talk Port" workshops throughout the year, each at a different location in Long Beach. Look for the schedule at www.polb.com. The sessions begin with brief introductions and an update from the Port staff, and then the forum is opened up for questions and comments.
