LMCs Invited to Clean Trucks Workshops

Topics for July 29, July 31 include applications, grant, leases

July 29, 2008

The Port of Long Beach is hosting two workshops for LMCs -- July 29 and July 31 at the Port Admin Building, 925 Harbor Plaza -- to discuss the latest on the Clean Trucks Program.

Click here to view the webcast for the 9 a.m. July 29 workshop and click here for the 1 p.m. July 31 workshop.

Keep cargo moving. Under the Clean Trucks Program, Licensed Motor Carriers that want to do business in the Port of Long Beach MUST have a Port-approved concession beginning in just a few weeks -- on October 1, 2008.

Sign up now. Learn more at the upcoming workshops, or go to http://www.polb.com/cleantrucks and download your application for a Drayage Services Concession. Submit the completed application with the $250 fee. Applying is simple, but processing will take at least 30 days. So apply now and you will be ready come October 1.

Also, to qualify as a concessionaire, you're required to make available health insurance to your drivers. The Port of Long Beach makes that easy with its Healthy Drivers Program. Urge your drivers to call 1-800-985-8608 for help in finding affordable healthcare options.

If you have questions, email us at info@polb.com or call 1-888-KLN-TRUX (1-888-556-8789).
