St. Mary Launches Port Grant-funded Mobile Care Clinic

Vehicle to bring health care to neighbors nearest the Port

March 1, 2012

St. Mary Medical Center in Long Beach has unveiled its new 38-foot custom Mobile Care Clinic, part of the new St. Mary Breathe Easy Mobile Outreach Program being launched thanks to an $834,000 grant from the Port of Long Beach. For more information, click here.

The Mobile Care Clinic will provide asthma outreach and respiratory diagnostic services to individuals of all ages in communities nearest the Port of Long Beach and its transportation corridors.

Long Beach Mayor Bob Foster and Susan E. Anderson Wise, President of the Long Beach Board of Harbor Commissioners, were on hand to help dedicate the mobile clinic.

The grant is part of the Port Grant Programs, which offer funds for projects in the local area to address the health effects of Port operations and to reduce greenhouse gases. For more information on the grant programs, go to www.polb.com/grants.
