See the Port of Long Beach on Free Harbor Tour

Reservations open Monday for hottest ticket of 2012

March 30, 2012

Experience the sights and sounds of a major international seaport close-up on one of the free, narrated harbor tours offered by the Port of Long Beach starting in May. But don’t delay. All you need for the free excursion is a reservation.

Reservations open starting 8 a.m. Monday, April 2, for the first set of tours. Go to www.polb.com/porttours to see tour dates and make a reservation online. You can also make a reservation by calling (562) 283-7700.

This year, the Port’s tour program will be adding new elements, including special sunset tours that capture the Port at evening time. And be on the lookout for a special “social media” tour exclusively for our followers from Facebook and Twitter.

The Port of Long Beach, the second busiest seaport in the United States, is a busy hub of international commerce with massive freight ships, powerful tugboats and soaring cranes. You can see it all from the water on one of the 90-minute tours offered this May through October.

Online reservations open up at 8 a.m. on the first working Monday of each month for tours the following month. On April 2, at 8 a.m., reservations will be available for the May tours, followed by June tour reservations on May 7, July tours on June 4, and so on. Seating is limited and spaces go fast, so reserve early.
